Caife Fáilte is a peaceful space in which Irish speakers and learners are able to come in and practice their Irish. It’s the only cafe in Derry where all staff are fluent in or learning Irish. Most of the staff members attend classes in Cultúrlann Uí Chanáin. When they are not at classes, they have opportunities to practice what they have learned with each other and with the customers.

Caife Fáilte has been using Fair Trade products for the past two years now. In fact a lot of the staff and customers prefer our Fair Trade products. 

Throughout the year, the café welcomes students learning Irish at school. They would use the café as a social meeting place and a way to practice their Irish. Some of the students that have visited the café will sometimes come back with their parents and show off their Irish that they have learned throughout the year.
